It's been roughly 14 years since a small group of European MBA's from
1990/91 gathered on a weekend in Brussels, Belgium, to establish the
SBA's Euro-Alumni Association. This past June, the
tradition continued when the Euro-Alumni Reunion Weekend was held
in Strasbourg, France, on June 25-27. More than 30 alumni and
family members hailing from Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany,
Switzerland, Belgium, Finland, Lebanon and the United States attended
the weekend-long activities.
Our thanks once again to alumnus Stanley Guerard '94 who
single-handedly organized a weekend that included discounted hotel
rates, tours of the Kronenbourg Brewery and Strasbourg's museum, a river
cruise, and meals at several superb restaurants. Alumnus Reza
Arabnia '87 delivered the keynote luncheon address to an audience that
included Dean Curtis Cook, his spouse Dr. Ruth Cook and faculty member
Dr. Ellen Cook. Alumnus Arnaud Haefelin '91 - titular head of the
Euro-Alumni Association - observed, "Every year we enjoy seeing
both new and returning alumni. And, this year in Strasbourg, we
had the highest alumni attendance ever! A worldwide USD alumni
network is gaining force."
Stay tuned for the next European city selected to host the 2005
Euro-Alumni Reunion Weekend. Mark your calendar now for June
25, 26 & 27, 2005, if you hope to attend.
